Our standards

The LIV Standard.

How LIV decides what to include, what it checks, and how it keeps commercial relationships separate from its judgment.

Principles

What LIV holds itself to.

Principles marked “developing” are commitments LIV is building toward — not completed processes.

  • Credential transparency

Profiles show credentials and applicable licensure exactly as the professional holds them.

    In practice

  • Professional review where appropriate

Health-related guides are reviewed by a professional qualified in that subject before they're published.

    In practice

  • Lived-experience input

People with lived disability experience help shape LIV's resources and direction as the advisory structure forms.

    Developing

  • Accessible design

LIV designs toward WCAG 2.2 AA and fixes barriers people report.

    In practice

  • Editorial independence

Commercial relationships never determine LIV's professional or editorial judgment.

    In practice

  • Commercial transparency

Paid partnerships and sponsored content are always disclosed.

    In practice

  • Ongoing resource review

Resources carry a last-reviewed date and are rechecked over time.

    Developing

  • Clear professional boundaries

Independent Network professionals are never presented as LIV employees, and LIV never presents resource navigation as clinical care.

    In practice

Professional review

What LIV reviews.

  • Identity, credentials and applicable licensure information the professional provides
  • Applicable professional licensure and credentials, checked against publicly available sources where they apply
  • That the profile describes services accurately and stays within professional boundaries

LIV reviews submitted information and may check applicable professional licensure and credentials against publicly available sources. This review is limited in scope and reflects information available at the time of review. It is not a clinical endorsement, a guarantee of quality or outcomes, or a judgment that a professional is right for any particular person.

Three distinct relationships

Clear boundaries.

LIV Adaptive Health Network
Independent professionals and organizations LIV connects people with. Network participation doesn't mean someone is employed by LIV, practices through LIV or is clinically endorsed by LIV.
LIV Partners
Organizations or companies with a formal partnership relationship with LIV, always disclosed.
LIV Clinical Team — future
Professionals who provide clinical services through LIV. No one is a LIV clinician today; this begins only once professionals are licensed, formally engaged by LIV and providing services through LIV.

Editorial independence

Useful resources do not have to pay LIV to be included.

Partnership never purchases LIV's recommendation. LIV separates commercial relationships from professional and editorial judgment. Sponsored relationships are disclosed, free resources remain eligible regardless of partnership status, and payment never determines professional search ranking.

Payment never purchases

  • Clinical endorsement
  • Preferential professional judgment
  • Guaranteed referrals
  • Guaranteed patients
  • Guaranteed revenue
  • Preferential search ranking
  • Professional approval
  • Network results are listed alphabetically. Paid membership is disclosed and never affects order.
  • Payment never publishes a profile automatically — every organization and professional is reviewed.
  • Sponsored content is always labeled.
  • LIV may decline or remove listings that don't meet its standards.

Accessibility

Designed to be usable.

LIV designs toward WCAG 2.2 AA. We haven't completed a formal accessibility audit or certification, and we fix barriers as people report them.
