About the founder
Kirsten Alburg, M.S.
Founder & Director
Kirsten holds a Master of Science in Instructional Design & Technology and brings more than 20 years in education, program development, learning design, grant-funded programs and community initiative development.
Her adaptive-sport experience includes work with organizations such as Challenge Alaska and the National Sports Center for the Disabled. That work showed her what can change when someone gets out on the snow, the water or a trail — not only in fitness, but in confidence, connection and their sense of what's possible.
It also showed her a gap. Healthcare and rehabilitation do vital work, yet people often leave without a clear way into sport, outdoor life and community. Kirsten founded LIV to build that bridge — rooted in Michigan, where the lakes, trails and winters invite everyone outside.
Kirsten leads LIV's programs, partnerships and resource development. She is not a licensed healthcare provider, and LIV does not provide clinical care.

We only name people once they've genuinely agreed to serve.
